Early Treatment

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends for children to have an orthodontic examination at age 7. For some, a timely evaluation will lead to significant treatment benefits. This early intervention can result in fewer extracted teeth and better patient compliance. Some of the techniques used in interceptive orthodontic treatment include arch expansion, which permits more room for permanent teeth, and orthopedic growth appliances which improve jaw growth and make later orthodontic treatment simpler.
